AFTERCARE & WHAT TO EXPECT

A calm, clear pathway — before, during and after your appointment.

We explain everything in advance. After treatment, you’ll receive written aftercare instructions and we’ll confirm the next steps with you clearly.

What to expect on the day

  • 01
    Arrive & settle

We’ll talk through the plan again and answer any last questions.

  • 02
    Comfort-first treatment

Your comfort is prioritised throughout, with monitoring where required.

  • 03
    Recovery & discharge

We’ll ensure you feel well, explain what’s normal, and confirm next steps.

Important: You’ll need an escort home if sedation is used. We’ll confirm this during your assessment.

We tell you what’s normal and what would warrant a call — no guessing.

AFTERCARE

What to expect immediately after sedation

Most patients feel relaxed and slightly drowsy after sedation. Our team ensures you are comfortable before leaving the clinic.

You’ll rest briefly at the clinic

We monitor you until you feel comfortable and ready to leave.

An escort will take you home

You should not drive or travel alone after sedation.

Take the rest of the day to relax

Avoid strenuous activity and allow your body to recover fully.

Clear written instructions

You’ll receive simple aftercare guidance before leaving the clinic.

RECOVERY GUIDANCE

The first 24 hours after sedation

Most patients recover comfortably within a few hours, but it’s important to take the rest of the day slowly and follow the guidance provided.

Rest for the remainder of the day

Plan a quiet day at home after your appointment. Relax and allow your body to recover naturally.

Eat light meals

Once you feel ready, start with soft foods and drink plenty of water. Avoid alcohol for the rest of the day.

Avoid driving or important decisions

Sedation can affect coordination and judgement for several hours, so you should not drive or sign important documents.

You should feel normal by the next day

Most patients feel completely back to normal the following morning. If you have any concerns, our team is always available to help.
